tutorial for coin pouch or purse

My husband told me his coin and junk pouch needs to be replaced. I found a web site with a great tutorial.

Now, if I can just get around to doing it, instead of quilt blocks. LOL

plastic grocery bags into shopping tote

Well, I was reading a post from Reenie about crocheting tote bags from used plastic bags...that sounded so fun and smart that I had to google it....and....that led to the following link:

I will start selectively saving some of the more colorful bags to do this.  The rest will still go to the recycler.

Block Swap exchange for June

I joined a new block swap adventure in June.  My swap block arrived a few days ago.

My partner, Jamie C. from Maryland, sent me one of my favorite blocks:

Tulip Lady Fingers 12 inch finished block
Thank you, Jamie!

Jamie requested civil war fabrics and look to the block.  I chose the old fashioned Churn Dash block.  I hope this fits her Civil War theme.  It also happens to be the block I am having my local quilt guild do for a "blotto" or block lottery block for July.

I just received a photo yesterday of a quilt created by members of the Cobbled Court Quilters Circle.
The members are part of the retreat that I attended last November in Conneticut with Marie Bostwick.
We all love her books about the Cobbled Court quilters, hence the name of our group. BTW, the retreat and the quilters were wonderful!

This quilt was made from blocks by the members of CCQ for one of the members, Cathy McG, who underwent back surgery and rehab over the last few months.  We started the quilt when we heard she was to have surgery.  Cathy is now recovering and will be sent the quilt shortly. It is sent with much love and care.

My blocks are pictured below before I sent them to Sandra in Mississippi to assemble, quilt and bind. a BIG thank you goes out to Sandra for assembling everyone's get well blocks into a beautiful quilt!  Cathy McG's favorite colors are vibrant blues and greens, so I hope she enjoys her "We Care" quilt.  :)

block two

both blocks, shown together, but still individual blocks for Sandra to assemble in pleasing array
